Does your organization struggle to recruit and retain people

from historically diverse backgrounds?

Would you like better organizational buy-in around

affirmative recruitment efforts?

Do the people responsible for hiring wish they had better resources to understand and manage complex recruitment processes?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. Many organizations face similar challenges and continue to search for resources to help them change and create affirmative and sustainable recruitment practices.

Limited to 50 participants, the Affirmative Recruitment Institute (ARI) is a one of a kind, three-day institute designed to provide participants with an intimate learning experience that will afford them the foundational awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to rethink and reshape their current hiring practices to recruit and retain staff from diverse backgrounds.

Over the past ten years, Dr. Stacey Miller and Dennis DePaul have been part of the national movement that businesses, higher education, and non-profits are experiencing around increasing the number of professionals they hire from traditionally underrepresented groups. They have led significant organizational change efforts that assist organizations in shifting how hiring has typically occurred: “the good ol’ boys network,” to more open and inclusive processes.

A previous participant of one of their Affirmative Recruitment workshops had this to say, “I recently had the privilege of attending two trainings with Dennis and Stacey. Instantly their infectious relationship draws you in, while their humor and genuine emotion guides you through a tough subject. You will stay easily engaged until the end and find yourself thinking about how you can own your personal biases.”

Why should you attend?

As cited from Rose Johnson, “In this era of economic globalization, many companies are making efforts to achieve workforce diversity, which aims to employ workers from different backgrounds to provide tangible and intangible benefits to the organization.” However making this happen mandates a different and more inclusive approach to hiring, which can ultimately give your organization a competitive edge. If you are looking to diversify your organization or to generate different ideas or new perspectives, if you are diversifying to address the needs of the clients you serve; ARI will help you understand the complexities involved in developing and designing a truly affirmative recruitment process so that your organization can yield results.

Who should attend?

  • Organizational Leadership (i.e. Directors and Executive Directors, CEOs, Presidents, and other key decision makers)
  • Human Resource Professionals
  • Lead/Talent Search Recruiters
  • Organizational Search Committee Chairs and Members
  • Anyone who is responsible for managing hiring processes and is interested in learning more about affirmative recruitment
